Eligibility

B.Sc(H.S.)

For B.Sc (HS) -1 st year:

Entrance based: Admission is on the basis of the rank in Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh

For B.Sc (HS) - 2 nd year: a student will be eligible to seek admission to B.Sc.(H.S.)2nd year only if he/she has passed B.Sc. (H.S.) Ist year examination.

Candidates clearing at least 50% credits shall be given chance of reappear in the supplementary examination. Candidates failing to clear the reappears or earning less than 50% credits shall be declared fail.

A failed student may seek re-admission or may re-appear in the next final examination as a late college student.

For B.Sc (HS) – 3 rd year:

Passes B.Sc (HS) – 2 nd year in all subjects. Candidates clearing at least 50% credits in B.Sc. (H.S.) 2nd year shall be given chance of reappear in the supplementary examination. Candidates failing to clear the reappears or earning less than 50% credits shall be declared fail and can seek readmission in B.Sc. (H.S.) 2nd year.

For M.Sc (HS) – 1 st year :

Direct admission for the students who have passed the final B.Sc. (Hons. School) examination in Microbiology of Panjab University without taking the entrance test.

Entrance and Merit based for the

out side eligible students who have qualified the entrance test (OCET) conducted by Panjab University, subject to the availability of seats.

For M.Sc (HS) – 2 nd year :

must have cleared M.Sc (HS) – 1 st year examination in Microbiology of Panjab University

B.Sc (Hons school) in Microbiology from panjab University

B.Sc (Pass or Hons) from any other University or must have studied Microbiology as one of the elective subject during three years in B.Sc.

Ph.D

No theory examination. Ph.D is only by research

Enrolment to Ph.D is on the basis of an Entrance Test conducted by Panjab University/ CSIR/ UGC/ ICMR. The candidate to be enrolled should have the fellowship and contingency grant or research grant.
